Oppo is still an unknown brand for a large number of users, but in recent years, it has managed to gain a space thanks to terminals with good features and an adjusted price. Its latest flagship, Oppo Find X2 Pro, is not satisfied with being on the level with other flagships but seeks to overcome them in such important aspects as the screen, the rear camera, or the battery charge.
The Oppo Find X2 Pro has a 6.7 ″ QuadHD + AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, 12GB of RAM, 256 / 512GB of storage, 48MP (wide-angle) + 13MP (5x telephoto) + 48MP (ultra-wide-angle) rear camera. , 32MP front camera and 4,260 mAh battery with fast charge at 65W.
Oppo Find X2 Pro Review
The OPPO Find X2 Pro has all the qualities we expect to see in a flagship. Starting with its design, it offers an attractive look with a large screen surrounded by really narrow frames on all four sides giving it a screen-to-body ratio of 91%.
OPPO has chosen to incorporate the front camera into a hole drilled in the screen itself. Its position in the upper left corner is very comfortable so that it does not interfere with games or full-screen videos – something that other rivals cannot boast of.
The screen has a fairly pronounced curvature on the sides, which produces some reflections when looking at the screen, especially from a certain angle, which will not be liked by some users.
The front glass is protected by Gorilla Glass 6, which is the most advanced generation of Corning coating.
The back of the OPPO Find X2 Pro is available in two finishes: black ceramic and orange leather.

Regarding the glass, ceramic is more resistant and does not transmit heat, although it is more complicated to mold and that is why it is reserved for the most premium smartphones.
On the back, the large elongated camera module stands out, which protrudes from the surface of the phone and makes this dance when touching the screen when it is resting on a table.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro is a device of a considerable size since it counts its thickness reaches 8.8 mm. and its weight is 207 grams. So if you don’t like bulky smartphones, you should look at other options.

It has a 6.7 ″ AMOLED panel with Quad HD + resolution, which implies a pixel density of 513 dpi. This pixel density is high enough to make the screen look sharp.

The display offers a wide range of color as it covers the entire sRGB and DCI P3 color spaces, and supports playback of HDR10 content. It features excellent color fidelity, especially in the Soft color mode that targets the sRGB space. The other color modes – Vivid and Kinematic – target the DCI P3 gamut and offer more intense colors.
The maximum brightness of the screen is very high since it reaches 776 nits in the high-brightness mode (with the screen illuminated at 100%), a value above all the smartphones. This ensures that you can use the phone in strong sunlight.
The screen offers the “Always Active Screen” mode that permanently shows the time and other interesting information such as battery level and notification icons. You can wake up the screen with a double-tap on it or when you lift it, as well as make it light up immediately with each notification or light up the edges.
OPPO incorporates a feature called the “Natural Tone Screen“, which automatically adjusts the screen’s color temperature based on ambient lighting – similar to how “True Tone” works on the iPhone.
As a novelty, we are faced with a panel with a high refresh rate of 120 Hz that makes the animations look much smoother. Although some manufacturers offer panels at 90 Hz, there are few smartphones that offer a refresh rate as high as 120 Hz and even less at Quad HD + resolution.
Another interesting novelty is the “O1 Ultra Vision engine“, which can expand the color range of SDR videos to HDR and artificially increase frames from 30 fps (or less) to 60 or 120 fps in apps like Amazon Prime Video, VLC, MX Player, Netflix, and YouTube.
OPPO has incorporated a fingerprint reader under the screen that allows you to unlock the phone with just a finger touch while the Screen is Always Active.
The fingerprint reader is reliable in identifying the fingerprint and offers a fairly large reading area, so you will have no problem unlocking your phone.
In addition, it also incorporates 2D facial recognition, which works quickly although it is not as secure as the fingerprint or the 3D facial recognition systems of other manufacturers.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro has really powerful hardware since it has a Snapdragon 865 processor, 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 512 GB of UFS 3.0 storage. Who gives more?
In benchmarks, the smartphone has obtained spectacular scores in all tests, as expected since it has the most powerful processor of the moment. In the day-to-day, the interface moves with extreme fluidity and I have not noticed signs of lag or slowness in any app.
The latest games are not a problem for this smartphone. I have been able to measure stable rates of 30 or 60 FPS in games like Asphalt 9, Dead Effect 2, or Call of Duty.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro does not allow for increased storage via micro-SD though, with 512GB onboard, this shouldn’t be a problem.
On the connectivity side, the OPPO Find X2 Pro offers 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC, but lacks FM radio. . Supports 5G SA / NSA networks (SA support will arrive via a future OTA) and supports the band below 6 GHz (Sub-6) but not the mmWave band (probably because this might add additional antennas that take up space and increase the price).
Unfortunately, OPPO does not offer a space for a second SIM card nor it is compatible with eSIM, so you cannot enjoy Dual SIM on the Find X2 Pro. This may be a problem for some users who are used to carrying two SIMS – one personal and one professional, or traveling to other countries.
The smartphone has a 4,260 mAh battery that offers good autonomy, so you will have no problem reaching the end of the day with fairly intense use of the phone.
Plus, if you run out of battery, you’ll be happy to hear that it offers 65W Super VOOC 2.0 fast charge, the fastest flash charging technology on the market. In half an hour, we reach around 85% charge, and the entire charging process takes just 43 minutes.
Unfortunately, it does not have wireless charging, an absence that I find difficult in a smartphone in this price range.
In the multimedia aspect, it incorporates stereo speakers at the top and bottom of the phone. The sound is heard with enough power and a good richness of tones – within what you would expect on a smartphone. In addition, it has Dolby Atmos, which provides greater depth to the sound.
At the software level, it comes with Android 10, and, above the operating system, OPPO has incorporated its own ColorOS 7.1 customization layer.
This layer adds a large number of functionalities that complement Android such as granular permissions for apps, cloning of applications for multi-account, gestures on the screen off, smart sidebar, app lock, secure keyboard, smart driving, hide apps on the desktop and a safe to protect files.
When it comes to enjoying games, OPPO includes functionality called “Games Space“.
This functionality improves gaming performance by allocating more hardware resources to the game, limits network access to background applications to improve latency when playing network, prevents automatic brightness adjustments, opens Messenger / WhatsApp in one window and record screen with audio during games.

In the photographic section, the OPPO Find X2 Pro has a versatile quad rear camera consisting of a 48MP “f / 1.7” OIS main camera, 5x telephoto camera (10x hybrid zoom) of 13MP “f / 3.0”, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera “f / 2.2” and a 2MP monochrome camera.
By default, the main 48MP camera makes use of pixel binning to capture photos at 12MP, although it offers a super high-resolution mode that takes advantage of 48MP full resolution for sharper photos.
In good light conditions, the images taken by the main camera are sharp and colorful, and, when light is scarce, the snapshots maintain excellent image quality, at the height (or above in many cases) of the best smartphones of the moment.
Like any self-respecting camera, it offers AI scene detection capabilities as well as a Night mode capable of very good low-light photography.
The ultra-wide-angle camera is ideal for taking pictures of landscapes or monuments, as it offers a totally different perspective. The downside is that, in low light conditions, quality suffers from the absence of optical stabilization and a more limited aperture. This camera also allows you to take macro photos from just 3 cm away.
Finally, the telephoto camera offers 5x optical zoom but it has some limitations, such as a reduced aperture that makes the phone choose to use the main camera at night and apply digital zoom. Although on paper 5x sounds better than 2x or 3x, keep in mind that any magnification less than 5x is achieved by magnifying the image taken by the main camera (25 mm) by software, without taking any advantage of the telephoto camera.
The main camera of the OPPO Find X2 Pro allows taking pictures in Portrait mode in combination with the 2MP monochrome camera that captures depth information.
In tests, the image quality of portraits is excellent, with good separation between the subject and background. However, when using the main camera (wide angle) instead of the telephoto camera, close-ups show some distortion of the face if you get too close. So the phone allows you to shoot portraits with 2x zoom magnification (but it loses sharpness).
The OPPO Find X2 Pro can record 4K, 1080p and 720p video at 30/60 fps with good image quality and excellent stabilization, especially in Ultra Stabilization mode, but it does not offer 8K recording. It offers wind noise reduction and, when recording with three microphones, allows you to record 360º sound or amplify the sound of the person you are focusing on.
The front camera has a resolution of 32MP, making it capable of capturing selfies with great clarity and a wide dynamic range thanks to the use of HDR. This camera also allows capturing photos in Portrait mode with good results.

Is the OPPO Find X2 Pro Zoom worth buying? If you are looking for a smartphone with an attractive design, an excellent screen, powerful hardware, a more than fast charge and a camera with great image quality, the OPPO Find X2 Pro has nothing to envy other flagships, although you will have to loosen the pocket since its price of € 1,199.90 is high.

Oppo Find X2 Pro Price and Competitors
The OPPO Find X2 Pro is not yet for sale in many countries but you can order exclusively in Amazon at a price of € 1,199.90.
An alternative is the OPPO Find X2 ( € 999 ), which presents some small differences with the «Pro» model such as less storage, less RAM, a different camera configuration, and IP54 water resistance.
If we look at other brands, we have some interesting options that can compete against the OPPO Find X2 Pro in performance and price.
First of all, we have Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus ( € 899 with 4G and € 999 with 5G) which has a 6.7 ″ Dynamic AMOLED screen, Exynos 990 processor, 12GB of RAM, 128/256/512 GB of UFS 3.0 storage, camera 12MP (wide angle) + 64MP (3x telephoto) + 12MP (ultra-wide-angle) + ToF, 10MP front camera, and 4,500 mAh battery.
We can’t forget its “older” brother Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra ( € 1,359 ) that has superior specifications: 6.9 ″ AMOLED screen, Exynos 990 processor, 12/16 GB of RAM, 128/256/512 GB of UFS 3.0 storage , 108MP (wide-angle) rear camera + 10x hybrid zoom periscope (48MP) + ultra-wide-angle (12MP) camera + depth (0.3MP), 40MP front camera and 5,000 mAh battery.
If you like photography, the Huawei P40 Pro 5G ( € 1,099 on Amazon) is a good reference. It has a 6.6 Full HD + OLED screen, Kirin 990 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, 50MP rear camera (wide angle) + 5x optical zoom periscope (12MP) + ultra-wide-angle camera (40MP) + 32MP front camera depth, 5G connectivity and 4,200 mAh battery with direct and reverse wireless charging. However, it does not bring Google services.
A smartphone that has just been announced is the OnePlus 8 Pro ( € 909 on Amazon) that has a Fluid AMOLED screen of 6.8 ″ at 120 Hz, Snapdragon 865 processor, 8/12 GB of RAM, 128 / 256GB of storage, rear camera wide-angle (48MP) + telephoto (8MP) + ultra-wide-angle (48MP) + depth (5MP), 16MP front camera and 4,510 mAh battery
We can not stop talking about the iPhone 11 Pro ( 1,159 EUR ), which has a 5.8 OLED screen that occupies almost the entire front (except the cutout on the top), A13 Bionic processor, 4G / LTE connectivity and a triple camera of 12MP.
